Cashmere & wool care guide

Caring for your cashmere doesn’t have to be complicated. We’ve gathered our best tips and tricks to help you keep your favorite pieces soft, beautiful, and long-lasting. Discover how to care for your cashmere below and make your styles look and feel as luxurious as the day you bought them.

How often should I wash my Cashmere wool?

Cashmere doesn’t need frequent washing — in fact, less is more. Like the goats themselves, the fibers are naturally self-cleansing. After wearing, simply hang your knit outside to air out overnight; this helps freshen it up and extend the time between washes.

When your garment starts to feel dull or develops an odor even after airing, it’s time for a wash. Use your washing machine’s wool or hand wash program at max 30°C, a mild wool detergent, and a low spin cycle. Skip the fabric softener.

You can also hand wash gently in cool water — just soak, don’t rub or wring. Avoid running water directly over the garment.

How to reshape

After washing, your cashmere might look slightly out of shape — don’t worry, it’s completely normal. A gentle steam will help it return to its original softness and form.

Use a handheld steamer just as you would on other garments; the steam won’t harm the fibers. If you prefer an iron, keep it on the lowest heat and never press it directly onto the fabric — place a thin cloth in between to protect the delicate fibers.

Steaming is the easiest and safest way to restore your cashmere’s shape and natural luster.

Tips & tricks

All cashmere will eventually develop small pills — especially in areas exposed to friction. It’s completely natural and doesn’t mean your knit is worn out.

To refresh your garment, gently remove pilling with a fabric shaver. Gradually increase the pressure if needed, and in just a few sweeps, your cashmere will look beautifully smooth again.

Between wears, let your cashmere rest folded in a drawer or on a soft shelf. Hanging it will stretch the delicate fibers and cause the garment to lose its natural shape over time. By folding and storing it flat, you help your cashmere keep its beautiful form and softness for years to come.
